- Open today's battleEvery day at midnight a new Daily Red battle unlocks. Everyone gets the same 8 monsters and faces the same champion, Vale.
- Draft 6 of 8Read the types and moves, then pick the six monsters that cover the champion's team best.
- Choose your leadVale's first monster is shown up front. Lead with something that hits it super effectively.
- Battle turn by turnPick a move or swap. Each move shows its effectiveness and rough damage. Swapping costs your turn, and the champion never swaps.
- Beat the parVale's par is how many turns a bot needed today. Win in fewer turns, then share your result grid.
A daily battle like Wordle, built for monster fans
Daily Red Game takes the turn-based battles of the classic handheld RPGs and turns them into a daily puzzle. There is no grinding and no catching. Each battle is a fixed challenge: the date decides the monster pool, Vale's six monsters, and every damage roll. Two players who make the same choices get exactly the same battle, so the only thing that matters is how well you draft and play.
You get one official try per day. Your progress is saved in the browser, so you can close the tab mid-battle and come back. When you finish, copy your result grid and compare turn counts with friends. Want more? Practice mode gives you unlimited random battles.
Daily Red type chart
Rows are the attacking move type and columns are the defending monster type. 2 means super effective, ½ means not very effective, 0 means no effect. A monster using a move of its own type gets a 1.5× bonus.

Daily Red battle tips
- Draft for coverage. Check Vale's team types on the draft screen and make sure you have super effective moves for most of them.
- Speed wins races. The faster monster moves first. Paralysis halves Speed, and priority moves like Quick Spark always go first.
- Swaps cost a turn. A free switch only happens after a faint, so switching in on a resisted hit is often better than swapping mid-turn.
- Status is strong. Burn halves physical damage, bad poison grows every turn, and sleep can buy you two to four free turns.
- Save your best for the ace. Vale's last monster is a level higher than the rest.

Daily Red is a free daily monster battle game you play in your browser. Each day everyone drafts from the same 8 monsters and battles the same champion, Vale, in a turn-based fight. It takes about five minutes.
Is Daily Red a Pokémon game?
No. It is an original game inspired by classic pocket monster battles like Pokémon Red. All monsters, moves, art and code are original, and it is not affiliated with Nintendo or The Pokémon Company. If you enjoy Pokémon-style type matchups and turn-based battles, you will feel right at home.
Is the daily battle the same for everyone?
Yes. The monster pool, the champion's team, every damage roll, critical hit and status chance are all decided by the date. The same choices always give the same result, so you can compare turn counts with friends fairly.
When does the new Daily Red battle start?
A new battle opens at midnight in your local time zone. A countdown on the result screen shows how long until the next one.
Can I replay today's battle?
You get one official try per day, and your progress is saved if you close the tab. For unlimited extra games, use Practice mode, which gives you a random team and a random champion line-up.
What does par mean?
Par is the number of turns Vale's test bot needed to win today's battle. Finishing below par earns a star on your share grid.
